Suspension

If a player is sent off during a match, he will subsequently have to miss a set number of games as a further penalty.

How long is a suspension in Soccer?

In soccer, a straight red card usually carries a two or three-match suspension depending on the severity of the offense committed, dangerous tackles, or violent conduct usually result in a three-match ban. Suspensions can be increased to four or more games if offenses committed are deemed extreme. The extensions of suspensions are usually decided by the league’s football association.

When a player receives two yellow cards in a match, a one-match ban is the usual suspension given to the player.
