The term given to a drop kick that is taken on or behind the 25yd line. The opposing team may not move over the line until the kick has been taken. A drop out is awarded to the defending team if the opposition has committed an offense in-goal, or if the ball is made dead by the defending team once the opposition has placed it in the in-goal area.
