Air Mail

What is the definition of Air Mail in Golf?

In golf, ‘Air Mail’ refers to a shot where the ball is hit significantly farther than intended, effectively ‘sending’ it over the intended target. The term evokes the image of sending something by air, far and fast, akin to how the ball travels beyond its target. This can happen due to overestimation of strength, miscalculation of wind, or simply a mis-hit.
