Occurs when a player from the same team is in front of the player in possession of the ball. An offside is punishable by awarding either a free kick or a scrum to the opposing team at the point at which the infringement occurred. The offside player can be brought back onside once the prssessor of the ball has moved back in front or kicks the ball in front of the offending players.
