When a player breaks the rules without physical contact being involved. Includes double dribbling, kicking or hitting the ball. No foul is charged for a violation, but the team in possession of the ball loses it. Any time the ball goes out of bounds, it is automatically awarded to the opposing team of the player who last touched the ball.
