Wicket-keeper
The only player on the fielding side who wears gloves; he is similar to a baseball catcher. He positions himself behind the batsman’s wicket, and tries to catch any balls from the bowler that beat the batsman. He also normally receives the ball from a fielder after the batsman has hit the ball away from the wicket, at which point the ball is no longer in play. He can stump a batsman out by knocking the bails off with the ball in his hand when the batsman’s feet are not in his crease.
