Line drive

A line drive is a type of hit that the batter can make, which sends the ball in a certain direction. A line drive is a fast, powerful strike which sends the ball travelling close to the ground. The line drive is used as a way of helping the batter get on base, by providing enough time for themselves to run.

A line drive moves parallel to the ground as it travels, meaning it can reach the outfield if there is enough force behind it.
