The batter’s circle is another phrase used to describe the On-Deck Circle in baseball. The batter’s circles are located 10ft behind the home plate, and they are both 5ft in diameter. The two circles are 75ft apart from the center.
The purpose of the batter’s circle is to provide a place for the next scheduled batter to warm up whilst the current batter finishes their turn.
The batter’s circle is usually composed of one of the following: dirt, a circle painted onto artificial turf, or an artificial material.
