Definition

Scored by the attacking team when the ball is grounded in the opponent's goal area following an attack. The ball must touch the floor for a team to be awarded a try. A player also can score a try if he falls to the ground before he reaches the goal line but his momentum carries him over it. A try scores three points for the attacking team, with the chance of a conversion to follow.
