Back uprise

(Sport: Men's Gymnastics - Parallel Bars)


The gymnast starts from a dish shape and then raises his hips and legs above bar level to gain momentum while then swinging backward so that his entire body is behind him but parallel to the bars, before raising his entire body into a straight line in the air. The next stage is to maneuver into a full handstand on the bars to complete the movement.
