Parallel turn

Definition

An advanced method of turning using corresponding wheel edges. The feet are placed in a scissor stance with most of the body weight put onto the front skate. The skater then leans his body into the turn while positioned on corresponding edges. The upper boad and head are twisted while the lower body is kept in the scissored position until the turn is completed.
